How do I create a Keyboard Shortcut in Windows 7

Windows 7 Keyboard Shortcuts

Windows has a lot of keyboard shortcuts built right in, but you can add your own to open the software of your choice.

To do this follow these following steps:

1. Right-click the program's launch icon and select Properties.

2. Open the Shortcut tab, then click in the "Shortcut key" field and press the key you want to use to launch the program.

3. Windows will assign Ctrl + Alt + <key of your choice> as a keyboard shortcut to open the program.

4. Click OK when you're done to save the shortcut.

It's a useful trick, especially if you don't want to have your task bar full of quick launch icons.
